Marc Sherratt

Managing Director
Director of R&D

Marc is considered one of the leaders of the green building movement on the African continent. His career begun at the internationally awarded firm Mashabane Rose Associates (MRA), where he quickly rose to running his own projects. At the firm he led and guided numerous professional teams in completing several large-scale, civic buildings, including being the lead designer in developing a World Heritage Site. The project costs of these mainly government funded buildings varied between R20 – R60 million. Following his passion in environmentalism he started MSSA in 2017. He is a Professional Architect (PrArch) registered with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP). He has over 12 years’ experience in the construction industry. He is a Net Zero and Greenstar SA New Build accredited professional. He is a member of faculty of the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA). He holds a Master’s degree in Architecture (MTech Arch Tech Prof) from the University of Johannesburg (distinction dissertation) and is currently completing a second Master’s in Sustainability Leadership for the Built Environment (MSt IDBE) with the University of Cambridge’ Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). In 2023 he was chosen by the Mail & Guardian as one of South Africa’s top 200 young visionaries.

Lance Ho Hip

Director of Architecture

Lance graduated with a Masters in Architectural Technology (MTech) from the University of Johannesburg achieving a distinction for his dissertation. He started his career at the internationally acclaimed and award-winning firm Mashabane Rose and Associates, Architects & Urban Designers. As an architect in training, he worked under the guidance of principal and founding member Mr Phill Mashabane, award winning architect and Heritage protégé. Due to his excellent leadership abilities, Lance was given the opportunity to run large projects very early on in his career, one of his notable works being the award winning, R100 million, Dinosaur Interpretive Centre located in Golden Gate Highlands National Park, complete in 2022. Lance has 8 years’ experience in the construction industry with implementation of industry standard contracts & dispute resolution.

Annelidé Sherratt

Director of Sustainability

Annelidé is a leader in the implementation and application of local and international green building certification systems, bringing over 13 years of industry experience. She is an EPC approved Quality Assurer. She has personally delivered more than 45 green building certifications and has overseen an additional 30 projects. Her professional qualifications include Prof. S. Arch T, LEED Accredited Professional (AP), WELL AP, Green Star SA AP (across all tools), EDGE Expert, and EDGE Auditor. She serves as a faculty member and assessor for the Green Building Council South Africa (GBCSA), contributing her expertise to the advancement of sustainable design and practices in the built environment. She holds a Master’s degree in Energy and Sustainable Building Design from De Montfort University in Leicester, UK, where she graduated with distinction. Her dissertation focused on leveraging building simulation modelling to support informed, efficiency-driven decision-making in construction projects.
